Racing has been a hobby, racing everything from small to large vessels; Sabots, Catalinas, J/29 and 30’s, and a William Garden Schooner. She started coming to the Northwest in the late 70’s and finally made the move permanent in the early 1990’s. She apprenticed here as a surveyor, and attended Chapman School on Florida. She is an Accredited Marine Surveyor, a member of SAMS, (International) Society of Accredited Marine Surveyors and a Certified Marine Investigator with IAMI – International Association of Marine Investigators. in the San Juan Islands (sails them blindfolded, the East coast and the
Virgin Islands. There is never enough time to cruise. Lynne teaches Marine Survey and works as a mentor to up and coming surveyors. She has three daughters and four grandchildren, and the famous kitty – “Princess-of-Westlake”, featured in a recent profile in Norwesting. Lynne inspects vessels of all materials, size, and ages. Fiberglass sailboats are the boats of choice here in the Northwest. She is looked to as well, as a specialist in wooden vessels, and sought after for her advise and services.
